Seasons Greetings 2022

Just a quick note to let you know that the Dementia Researcher team are are taking a much needed break, and have now finished for 2022 – but don’t worry, we have scheduled some great content for next week and will be back on the . We will be back on the 3rd January, ready to go with lots of new ideas and support.

It has been a fantastic fifth year, and your continued support and feedback helps to fuel our work. Here are a few stats that might interest you:

  • 3,109 people have now subscribed to the site (that’s a 38% increase)
  • The site had over 50,437 visitors (17% increase on 2021) and 112,000 page views.
    • Visitors to the site come from 179 different countries (that’s 4 more than last year), the top ten are: 1. UK, 2. USA, 3. China, 4. Netherlands, 5. Australia, 6. India, 7. Canada, 8. Ireland, 9. Germany, 10. Finland.
  • We have published 400 blogs and articles
  • We welcomed 98 new dementia researcher contributors, making a total of 438.

As for the podcasts….

  • 45 episodes published (plus bonus recordings from twitter spaces) available on every podcast platform. We also completed our YouTube podcast and now publish a video version of every show.
  • 50,710 plays (89% increase – and this is only within podcast apps, include YouTube and the number increases to 78,359)
  • Listeners from 102 different countries.
  • Over 4,500 regular listeners and subscribers
  • We should also flag our second podcast channel – Dementia Researcher Blogs – we release all our blogs with audio narrations and release these as podcasts, that channel had 5455 plays in the last twelve month (49% and is growing in its following).

I would like to thank our funding partners the National Institute for Health Research, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society, our new collaborators Alzheimer’s Association ISTAART and Race Against Dementia and  those other sites who kindly allow us to share their content e.g. LSE Impact Blog, Nature Careers, Alz Forum etc. and everyone who has contributed to the blogs and podcasts, and everyone who joined the community, all those who have read our posts, listened to our podcasts and made use of our site.

We have so much more planned for 2023, and some exciting news about our future coming soon – and as ever we are very much looking forward to supporting you, the fantastic Dementia Researcher community.
