Worked for many years in supporting women with drug addiction . Here, as well as counselling these clients I taught them coping strategies.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I love to dance.

Why did you choose to work in dementia research?

There is a big message needing to be heard. People with dementia and their carers are the real experts. They know what they need if Academia would listen to them.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Listen, observe and empathise.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

The Butler by Danielle Steel, it’s a good read

Favourite ways to unplug and unwind?

Listen to folk music, play my keyboard ( badly) read books that are just for fun.

The Quiet Man.
