Tell us a little about yourself:
After starting my career as a journalist at newspapers in Scotland, I spent several years working as a press officer at Oxford and Birmingham universities – mostly promoting research outcomes to the media. In 2019 I joined Dementias Platform UK, where I look after communications in support of the project’s mission to accelerate progress in dementia research.

I am proud father to two rabbits. One of them was pictured in The Times to accompany a story about the history of bunny domestication.
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
I ended up in the world of dementia research more by accident than design – but I’m glad I did, because it’s one of the most important challenges facing societies around the world in the 21st century.
