Tell us a little about yourself:
I am currently a Professor and Research Leader at the School of Health and Sport Sciences at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina in Bogotá, Colombia. I earned my medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Antwerp in Belgium. My research focuses on human genetics and genomics, and I have authored over 130 scientific publications in international journals. I also serve on the editorial boards of several journals and have been a peer reviewer for numerous international publications, as well as for various academic and scientific institutions. Additionally, I have edited two international books in the fields of genomics and bioinformatics.

Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
Beacuse it is a major neurological disease with many unknowns in its pathophysiology
