Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a psychology graduate with a background in research and clinical work, currently working with the Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network. I’ve worked in NHS older adult mental health services since 2021, and I’m passionate about understanding the mind and improving mental health care. I love learning, whether it’s through research, hands-on experience, or just good conversation – I’m particularly interested in neuropsychology. At the heart of it all, I care about people, and I want to make a real difference in their lives.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I have a passion for recreational pole dancing and spend my spare time teaching and coaching polers in Scotland. I also research the experiences of recreational pole dancers, because why not mix work and play? When I’m not spinning around a pole (or falling on my face), you’ll find me lifting weights at the gym, attempting a Bob Ross masterpiece, or desperately trying to survive in Fortnite.
Why did you choose to work in dementia:
Dementia is complex, and that’s what draws me to it. It’s a field that blends neuropsychology, clinical care, and the human condition — supporting not just the person but their whole system. I’m motivated by the challenge of understanding cognition, behaviour, and wellbeing in a way that’s meaningful, effective, and person-centred. At the heart of it, I want to help people maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life, even as things change.
