Tell us a little about yourself:
I grew up in Durham and moved down south to the University of Southampton to study Biomedicine but I fell in love with the brain and ended up with an integrated Masters of Neuroscience degree. I’m now a final year PhD student at the University of Bath where I’m investigating how dietary flavonoids could target neuronal tau pathology.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I can’t resist jumping into cold water for a swim
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
Learning about dementia in my undergraduate degree I realised how much of the puzzle there was left to solve and I wanted to be able to contribute to the field. My gran has since been diagnosed with vascular dementia which has really showed me how much we need research into these diseases.
