Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a single parent to a young teenager, live in Brighton and work at Sussex University and am abou to head to Osaka in Japan.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I have recently been awarded a fellowship to work in Osaka University for the next academic year, so me and my son are off to Japan!
Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
I am fascinated by how genes cause risk for disease and I could not resist trying to work out what’s going on with APOE4. My Grandma also had Alzheimer’s at the end of her life so I have some idea of how the disease affects whole families.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
The Dawn of Yangchen (from Avatar the Last Airbender – watched the TV series with my son – it is fantastic, and got into reading all the back stories of previous avatars!)
