Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a first generation university graduate – this is my second career, after a short 8 year stint in the army (Royal Engineers). I live in Newcastle in the North East. Prior to this, I lived in Brussels, Belgium and worked at Université catholique de Louvain as a postdoc. Prior to that I lived in Wales for just short of ten years, where I completed my undereducated to MSc at Bangor. Originally, I’m from Romford in Essex.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I’m scared of slugs.
Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
I have chosen to work in dementia, because this I feel this is an extremely important area and one with lots of variety in terms of problems to work on.
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Find good mentors.

Favourite ways to unplug and unwind?
I like to unwind by playing on my Steam Deck for half an hour or before bed (currently playing Chivalry 2). However, to truly unplug and unwind, I like to spend time in nature and the outdoors.
