Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a lecturer in computational biology in the school of Biosciences at Cardiff University. I live in Cardiff with my husband, toddler and our Labrador (Daisy). I was the first in my family to get a degree and I think I made it all the way to a lecturing position through shear determination alone. I had no idea what I wanted to be when I “grew up”, just that I liked computers and science, so it’s all worked out well for me!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I was once interviewed by an Australian newspaper about the use of libraries in the local community.

Why did you choose to work in Dementia research?

I work across different diseases as well as more basic biology. Dementia Researchers are a brilliant, hard working and committed bunch. That keeps me coming back to dementia research.
