Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a Senior Research Associate at at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, where I have been opportuned to work on a variety of projects in health research. I’m particularly passionate about hydration in older adults who are at increased risk of dehydration due to physiological and congnitive changes. My research have involved working with stakeholders to develop a Drinks Diary that some care home residents can use to monitor their fluid intake. As part of the UEA Hydrate group, we worked with care staff, residents and their family members to develop a toolkit used by care staff to support hydration in care homes. I see myself as blessed in many ways and believe in giving back to my community. As such, I volunteer to support others in my local church and with a national listening service.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

People smile when they visit my kitchen.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Find a project you are passionate about, give it your very best and remember to plan your long-term goals.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

I have just started reading a book titled ‘You are Enough’ by Jonathan Puddle. I am intrigued by the way the author has beautifully combined theology and psychology in an accessible way. I like the fact that it is written in bite-sized format. Although it is not research related, its part of how I relax and unwind. I am reminded that although I am not perfect, I can approach myself with compasionate love and grace.
