My mixed methods PhD is exploring the identification and management of anxiety and depression in people living with dementia in primary care. My research interests are in the care of older people, including dementia, multimorbidity and health inequalities.

I am an academic GP based at UCL. As well as research, I enjoy teaching and am passionate about widening participation. In my free time I enjoy going for walks and cycling.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
Lots of wildlife visit my garden, including herons, pheasants, and deer.
Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
I have seen first hand how dementia affects my patients and believe more can be done to improve management in primary care. Also, I want to improve awareness with the public and inspire the next generation to get involved in dementia research.
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Keep going! When one door closes another door opens!
