PPIE online training course

The Institute of Mental Health has launched a new CPD accredited training programme for Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE). This programme has been designed to increase knowledge of active researchers and colleagues in health and care research and provide time for you to engage and build your collective confidence in a shared learning space.

PPIE has exploded within research conversations over the last decade and now funders, research leads, institutions and patient groups expect to see genuine, well thought out Patient and Public Involvement within health and care research. This programme has been designed to help you consider and embed quality PPIE within your systems so you can incorporate living experiences, peer researchers and patient and public contributors to improve relevance, acceptability and accessibility of your health and care research.

Who is the course for?

This programme is aimed at anyone who feels they need to begin or enhance their PPIE knowledge and are looking for detailed learning development in this area of their work.

The programme considers the experience of PPIE from the perspective of researchers delivering what is asked of them from initial understanding through to exploring detailed scenarios and working with compassion and understanding in their work.

If you’re not sure if this course is for you then we’d love to hear from you and we can talk about some of the content, feasibility for your own context and look at alternative options for your progress in this area.
