Introducing the Dementia Ethics Exchange Community

Dementia Researcher Communities is excited to announce the launch of a new space ‘Dementia Ethics Exchange‘ led by Dr Sarah Griffiths – a dedicated space within our community for all things ethics-related in dementia research. Whether you’re navigating the complexities of ethical review processes, designing accessible participant resources, or seeking inspiration for your research protocols, this is the place for you!

Why Join the Ethics Exchange?

  • Ethics Chat: Got a tricky ethical question? Or perhaps you’ve successfully overcome a challenge you’d like to share with others? Post your questions, insights, and experiences, and engage with researchers who’ve been through similar journeys.
  • Accessible Resources: Creating participant resources that are ethical and inclusive is no easy task. In this section, you can share and find approved resources like ‘Participant Information Sheets’ and ‘Informed Consent Forms’ designed for people with dementia. It’s all about learning from each other and evolving our practices together.
  • Protocols: Writing a research protocol can be tough, but you don’t have to do it alone! Share your ethically approved protocols or find examples to help guide your process. Let’s support each other in making this task more manageable.

How Can You Get Involved?

  • Share Your Experience: Have a resource or protocol that’s worked well in your research? Post it and let others learn from your successes (and even your challenges!).
  • Ask Questions: Whether you’re new to ethical reviews or looking for advice on a specific issue, this is a supportive environment for open discussion.
  • Get Inspired: Discover new ways of tackling ethical issues in dementia research by exploring the contributions of others.

Together, we can elevate the standards of ethical research in dementia. Join the Dementia Ethics Exchange Space today and become part of a growing, collaborative community committed to sharing knowledge and improving research practices.

Let’s make ethics a conversation, not a challenge!
