Mobilising research knowledge: experiences from working with care homes

October 17 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

National Institute for Health and Care Research HTA HSDR

Social care provides the physical, emotional and social support to help people live their lives as independently as possible. Care homes are an intrinsic part of this provision. Research can help identify the best interventions or predict possible outcomes.

However, researchers may be unsure how to collaborate effectively with people working in adult social care to mobilise knowledge and get evidence from research into the sector.

This webinar from Professor Claire Goodman will explain the important areas to consider when engaging with and mobilising research knowledge with care homes and their stakeholders. It will help you to understand the current adult social care landscape and present some practical examples from research with care homes that have cross-cutting learning. It will also discuss potential challenges and practical tips for knowledge mobilisation.

This webinar is for anyone in the health and social care community wishing to engage with and share research knowledge with care homes/adult social care. By attending this webinar you should:

– Understand the context in which adult social care is delivered and how knowledge is currently mobilised.
– Consider how to address the evidence-to-practice gap in social care.
– Have some practical examples as inspiration, including challenges and successes.
– Know how to get started and what to think about to mobilise research knowledge with social care.

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the webinar.
