ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH UK Logo

We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for you to create or develop your collaborative research ideas. The ARUK ECR Ideathon is a guided workshop. You will be using basic concepts of grantsmanship and ideation in small groups with shared research interests to start developing a collaborative project.

  • Date: Thursday 14th November 2024
  • Time: 12-5pm
  • Venue: ISH Venues, International Student House, 1 Park Crescent, London W1B 1SH
  • Registration: Complete the google form here (registration is compulsory)

Collaboration is an integral part of the scientific exchange. It provides access to additional knowhow and increases your success rate during funding applications. Yet we often find ourselves in research silos, where access to novel views and expertise is limited. The London ARUK ECR Ideathon is designed to break loose from those limitations, offering access to and discourse with other researchers interested in tackling dementia-related problems like yourself from across all major London institutions.

Besides broadening your own map of dementia research, cross-centre collaborations are needed to apply for the ARUK pump priming grants, will enhance your success rate in fellowship programmes, widening your access to London institutions, and help build your professional portfolio.

Programme

12 – 1 pm Introduction to Collaborative Grants and Grantsmanship
1 – 2 pm Lunch with Pizza and Networking
2 – 4 pm Ideation and Writing
4 – 5 pm Drinks Reception and Networking

All ECR levels are welcome on this creative journey. Spaces are limited on a first-come first-serve basis so please register early. Deadline is 1st November.
