International Vascular Biology Meeting 2024
July 2 - July 5
Our conference scientific statement “You are as healthy as your blood vessels”:
Cardiovascular diseases are still the most prominent cause of high mortality and morbidity in Western society. Vascular dysfunction is at the basis of ischemic cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes. Single cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies have recently identified novel cell types, RNA species and molecular mechanisms that may govern vascular dysfunction but also provided insight into signaling cascades that can promote tissue regeneration. These new findings may open up novel therapeutic avenues and provide the basis of game-changing highly selective vascular and cardio-biology treatment regimens.
To achieve this, integration of basic knowledge derived from various fields including genetics, developmental biology, neurobiology, inflammation, systems biology together with detailed imaging approaches, need to be integrated and evaluated in a (pre) clinically relevant setting. We will showcase the latest developments in the field of (non-coding) RNA biology, cardio-biology, multi-omics, and present the concepts emerging from basic and (pre)clinical studies in particular with respect to treating (ischemic) cardiovascular diseases.
Stay young – Keep the blood vessels healthy!
