We are excited to invite you to a livestream of the East Midlands Dementia Care Research Symposium, an event focused on advancing care for dementia patients, particularly those in underserved communities. The event features a variety of expert speakers who will share their research and insights, providing a rich opportunity for learning and networking with peers.

  • 09:55 – Research on hearing loss, noncommunicable diseases, and modifiable behaviours by David Maidment, Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Loughborough University
  • 10:15 – Outcomes for people with dementia in Recovery College courses by Linda Birt, Associate Professor Palliative Care, University of Leicester
  • 10:35 – Lived experience of young onset dementia by Peter Middleton (PPI) and Jackie Parkes, Professor in Applied Mental Health, University of Northampton
  • 10:55 – Short break
  • 11:10 – The Cognitive Daisy (COG-D): Improving care in dementia care homes by Petra Pollux, Associate Professor, University of Lincoln
  • 11:30 – Neurodegeneration in professional football and caregiving by Chris Matthews, Senior Lecturer, Nottingham Trent University
  • 12:30 – Break
  • 13:30 – Launch of the Sustainable Prevention, Innovation and Involvement Network (SPIN-D) by Georgina Charlesworth and Chris Fox
