1st UK Glia Network Symposium

UK Glia Network logo
The UK Glia network has been founded by a group of scientists representing all fields of glia research. Our primary goal is to create a community for glia researchers, where we can exchange ideas, tools, communicate our research and foster collaborations. 
The first meeting of the UK Glia Network has been scheduled for 9th of September 2024, 8.30am – 5.30pm taking place at the The Diamond Building, 32 Leavygreave Rd, S3 7RD, Sheffield.

Programme

3 mini-symposiums – Role of glial cells in neurodegeneration, Glia cells in non-mammalian systems/outside the CNS, Molecular and functional diversity of glial cells

Keynote speakers:

Jeffrey Lliff, Roslyn Bill, Alexei Verkhratsky, Soyon Hong, Clare Howarth

Programme UK Glia Network Event

Registration fee:

£25 PI/postdoc, £10 post/undergraduate students

All participants will receive a complementary digital copy of the book “Neuroglia” written by Prof Alexei Verkhratsky and Arthur Butt.

Best poster competition: 1x £100 and 2x £50 / Best early career researcher talk competition: 1x £50

Deadline for registration and abstract submission: 5th of August 2024
