How can we address the challenges of conducting trials with adults with impaired capacity to consent?
This website from Cardiff University brings together a range of resources to support researchers conducting research with adults who have impaired capacity to consent and health and social care professionals who provide care for people with impaired capacity. It also contains tools such as the NIHR INCLUDE Impaired Capacity to Consent Framework.
The resources are intended to cover all populations who may have impaired capacity, particular considering UK legislation, however the same principles should apply worldwise, as will the specifically tailored resources for particular populations.
The website has been developed as part of the CONSULT project.
