Postdoctoral Researcher position at University of Oxford working on Sleep and circadian rhythm disruption and cinnection with Parkinson’s disease

We have a exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join us. Sleep and circadian rhythm disruption (SCRD) is a significant burden on individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD), impairing their quality of life and creating challenges for caregivers, often leading to institutionalization. This research project aims to assess the efficacy of two novel modulators of circadian rhythms in stabilizing SCRD and improving cognitive and mental health in mouse models of PD. The individual will be required to work within a team of four researchers and in collaboration with the spin-out company to evaluate the effect chronic dosing of circadian rhythm stabilizing drugs on readouts of rhythmic activity, sleep, and cognition in mice. The individual will also conduct end-point measures of efficacy, including immunohistochemical and RNA-Seq based assays. The individual should have experience with in vivo mouse studies, preferably with experience of surgery and telemetric readouts. The individual should possess strong analytical and writing skills.
