Getting started with your PhD

06/12/2023 @ 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm

PhD Supervisor

Embarking on a PhD is an exciting time, but there may be many questions you’d like answers to but aren’t sure who to ask.

jobs.ac.uk are partnering up with Dr Petra Boynton, Research Consultant and Social Psychologist, to bring you an exclusive 45-minute webinar on ‘Getting started with your PhD’.

In this session Petra will cover some of the most common questions PhD candidates have, including what to expect from your supervisor, milestones in the first year of your PhD, addressing your training needs, managing your time (particularly if you struggle in this area), and how to look after your safety and wellbeing.

The webinar is suited to those who’ve recently begun their PhD journey, who are considering undertaking a PhD, or who are new to supervision and want to know how best to support students.

A Q&A will make up part of the webinar, so please submit your questions during registration. A recording of the event will be made available shortly afterwards, and all those who register will receive a link to the recording by email.
