Wellcome EDIS Symposium
26/09/2023 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The 2023 EDIS Symposium brings together researchers and professionals from across the science and health research sector on the theme of inclusive leadership. Speakers and delegates will share exciting and emerging practice on designing, implementing and rewarding inclusive leadership at all levels.
The Symposium aims to challenge and expand ideas of what leadership can be, featuring discussions on topics such as grassroots community organising in STEM, the role of funders in supporting research careers and leading in equitable research practices. The format will be a mixture of keynote speeches, panel discussions and lightning talks with opportunities to ask questions and network. There will be opportunities to connect with others across the science and health research sector with an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion and inclusive leadership.
The Symposium is organised with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health (EDIS) a coalition of organisations transforming the exclusionary cultures, values, systems and structures in science and health research. We believe that science and health research – and its benefits- should be for everyone.
The Symposium will be conducted in line with the EDIS Safer Space Policy.
