Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a second year post-doc performing Multi-omic studies on multiple types of dementia in order to determine whether they work with similar mechanisms, but with different regional vulnerabilities. In my free time I’m an avid reader (especially Discworld!), Enjoy going to the gym, and love boardgames.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I come from a town that is famous for fairies!

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

I was inspired by the untimely death of my favourite author Terry Pratchett, who died at only 66 years old of Alzheimer’s with posterior cortical atrophy.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Start networking early on – the more opportunities you give yourself for collaborations and advice the better.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

The Prevention of Literature by George Orwell (I recommend any George Orwell)
