Imperial LGBTQ+ Brains Symposium (In-person & Online)
27/02/2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Department of Brain Sciences LGBTQ+ Allies Network is excited to invite you to the first ‘Imperial LGBTQ+ Brains Symposium’, held on the 27th February to mark LGBT History month!
We have organised exciting talks from 3 scientists at various stages of the academic research path (a PhD student, a Postdoctoral Fellow, and a Professor) who align with the LGBT community to highlight their research and academic journey.
The seminar will be followed by a social with food and drinks at 5 pm. Please register your attendance for this so we can gauge numbers for catering.
Speakers:
- Danielle Kurtin – PhD student, Department of Brain Sciences, Imperial College London
“From bare feet to brain: an introduction to my research on context-dependent reconfigurations in brain state topology and dynamics and a brief overview of my research journey.”
- Jonathan Davies – Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Exeter
“Exploring Gene Regulation in the Developing Human Brain”
- Bill Wisden – Professor, Department of Life Sciences, Imperial College London
“How do we sleep?”
We hope to see lots of you in person, but for those who can’t join, the seminar will also be held virtually on Zoom.
