Tell us a little about yourself:
I did my undergraduate and PhD studies in Psychology at the University of Southampton in visual spatial processing and ageing. Following this, I worked in stroke rehabilitation, exploring the use of electrical stimulation for arm function. In 2018, I joined NESTCC and have really enjoyed conducting studies and understanding the value of research on research. I have two children and an excitable collie that keep me very buy outside of work.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I have been a vegetarian since I was 11, although I have bought chicken and fish back into my diet (not sure what the official term for that is, my Dad would just say I’m being difficult 😉).
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Seek opportunities and take opportunities to be involved in and experience all things research related, no matter how scary or relevant to your area of research. Also, develop a good filing system and stick to it!
What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
The Daylight War from the Demon Cycle series. This is not the first time I have read his series and I would thoroughly recommend it.
